The State’s Attorney’s principal responsibility is to prosecute all crimes in the county. They also advise the County Commission as well as the other offices and departments in the county on legal issues. He is charged with representing the Clerk of Court to enforce certain orders of the court.

The State’s Attorney Office is a part-time office.
